ASUTIFI SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CELEBRATES 2025 FARMERS’ DAY AT KWAKU NYUMAH

The Asutifi South District Assembly has joined farmers, traditional leaders, and community members at Kwaku Nyumah to commemorate the 2025 National Farmers’ Day, celebrated under the inspiring theme: “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”

This year’s celebration highlighted the vital role farmers play in ensuring national food security, sustaining rural livelihoods, and contributing to the district’s socio-economic development. The theme underscores the importance of strengthening local food systems, supporting Ghanaian farmers, and investing in sustainable agricultural practices to safeguard the country’s future.

The event brought together key stakeholders from the agricultural sector, representatives of farmer groups, development partners, Assembly officials, and community members who gathered to honour the dedication, resilience, and hard work of farmers across the district.

In an address delivered on behalf of the District Assembly, officials commended the outstanding contributions of farmers despite challenges such as climate change, rising input costs and limited access to modern farming technologies. The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to promoting programmes that enhance productivity, expand market access, and support youth involvement in agriculture.

Special recognition and awards were presented to deserving farmers who excelled in various categories. These awards were aimed at motivating farmers to adopt improved agricultural practices, embrace innovation, and continue contributing to the food needs of the district and the nation at large.

The community of Kwaku Nyumah expressed appreciation to the District Assembly for choosing the town as the host venue for this year’s celebration. The event featured cultural performances, an exhibition of local produce, and a display of agricultural tools and innovations.

The Asutifi South District Assembly extends warm congratulations to all award-winning farmers and encourages continued collaboration among farmers, stakeholders, and development partners to “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
