District Development Planning Unit
The District Development Planning Unit, through the District Planning & Coordinating Unit (DPCU), provides strategic leadership in the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development programmes and projects within the District Assembly.
The Unit serves as the central coordinating body for development planning activities and ensures that government policies and district development priorities are effectively translated into practical programmes and projects that improve the living conditions of the people.
The Unit is responsible for the preparation of key planning documents, including Annual Progress Reports, District Development Action Plans, and Medium-Term Development Plans. It also monitors and evaluates development projects and programmes being implemented across the District to ensure efficiency, accountability, sustainability, and compliance with national development objectives.
In addition, the Unit collaborates with stakeholders, development partners, departments, agencies, traditional authorities, and community members to gather relevant information and inputs needed for policy formulation and development planning. Through effective coordination and stakeholder engagement, the Unit promotes inclusive and participatory governance at the local level.
The District Development Planning Unit also supports institutional capacity building by ensuring that staff members are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and effective service delivery within the Assembly.
