General Assembly Meeting Held to Discuss Development Priorities and Strengthen Governance

The Asutifi South District Assembly on 26th May 2026 held a General Assembly Meeting aimed at discussing key governance and development issues critical to the progress of the district.

The meeting brought together all Hon. Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and Organizations, as well as key stakeholders to deliberate on matters relating to local governance, development planning, and effective service delivery within the district.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Hon. District Chief Executive’s Sessional Address by Hon. Assabil Donkor Benjamin. In his address, the DCE outlined the Assembly’s achievements, ongoing projects, challenges, and strategic priorities geared toward accelerating development and improving the living conditions of residents across the district.

The Assembly also received and discussed reports from the Executive Committee, where members deliberated on recommendations and sectoral updates concerning infrastructure, education, health, sanitation, finance, and social development. Participants engaged in constructive discussions and provided valuable contributions aimed at strengthening policy implementation and enhancing accountability.

Another key agenda item was the ratification of the guidelines for the allocation of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). Members carefully examined the proposed allocation framework to ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with the development needs of various communities within the district.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Assabil Donkor Benjamin emphasized the importance of unity, commitment, and collaboration among Assembly Members and departmental heads in driving the district’s development agenda forward.

“The development of our district requires collective effort, transparency, and dedication from all stakeholders. Together, we can continue to implement policies and projects that will positively impact the lives of our people,” the DCE stated.

The meeting further provided a platform for stakeholder engagement, knowledge sharing, and collective decision-making, reinforcing the Assembly’s commitment to participatory governance and sustainable development.

At the close of the meeting, members reaffirmed their commitment to working together in promoting accountability, efficient resource allocation, and improved service delivery for the benefit of all communities in the district.
