Distribution of support items to Persons with Disabilities

The District Chief Executive for Asutifi South, Hon. Assabil Donkor Benjamin, distributed essential items and financial assistance to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the district as part of the Assembly’s efforts to promote economic empowerment and improve their livelihoods.

The items distributed included deep freezers with ice chests, fufu-pounding machines, industrial sewing machines, laptops, solo cocoa-spraying machines and shop containers. These resources are intended to help the beneficiaries establish or expand their businesses, generate sustainable incomes and become more self-reliant.

The Assembly also provided financial support for school fees, medical expenses and business capital through its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund allocated to PWDs. This intervention reflects the Assembly’s broader commitment to inclusion and social empowerment by ensuring that all residents have equal opportunities to improve their wellbeing.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Assabil Donkor Benjamin encouraged them to use the items and funds for their intended purposes. He assured them that the Assembly would undertake regular monitoring and follow-up visits to ensure that they derive maximum benefit from the support.

The event was attended by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. George Osei, Assembly staff and other relevant stakeholders. Their presence demonstrated the Assembly’s collective commitment to improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities and promoting inclusive development throughout the Asutifi South District.
