39th edition of National Farmers’ Day celebration at Acherensua

Farmers’ Day is a national holiday honoring Ghanaian farmers around the nation. Every year on the first Friday in December, people celebrate it. Following a catastrophic famine that struck Ghana in 1983 and 1984, the nation celebrated its inaugural Farmers Day in 1985. The government then established this reward program in an effort to encourage people to start farming. The Ghanaian economy is supposedly based primarily on agriculture. To make sure that this backbone is kept intact, the farmers break their backs. Then, in order to inspire them, it is essential to set aside a day to recognize and appreciate their efforts. This encourages more people to enter the field as well.
